While Taylor Swift leads the pack in squad style, the modern-day iteration of the chic celebrity clique owes a little something to Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio, whose perpetual wingmen included Tobey Maguire and Entourage’s Kevin Connolly. But whereas DiCaprio’s crew ran amok in the city back in the day, Swift is using her power posse for good, broadcasting a girl-empowerment message of unity and friendship, all while having fun and picking up some stylish tips from friends whose fashion goals are in league with her own.

Finding a suitable workspace is an issue that plagues many freelancers, and models, with their castings, fittings, and go-sees, are no different. Coffee shops and restaurants are nice, but they aren’t always the ideal place to catch up on emails or get things done. Enter Modellounge, a Soho House–style members-only club where New York City’s top models can go to relax, recharge, and, perhaps most important, have a moment of privacy. With outside guests and men banned from entering during normal hours, Modellounge offers a break from both gawkers and aggressively flirtatious bros, but that’s only part of the story.

By and away the biggest trend on tonight’s Met Gala red carpet was a tendency toward the futuristic in all its forms. Some translated the theme in head-to-toe silver, others in body harnesses and armor, and some with slinky cutouts that would make Lara Croft blush.
